Kinesia Pilates teachers are Romana’s Pilates certified.
The Romana´s Pilates Instructor Training Program is one of the most respected Pilates teacher training certifications in the world. Developed by Romana Kryzanowska (Joseph Pilates' chosen protegée) and maintained by deeply experienced teacher trainers with a passion for the integrity of the original Pilates “Contrology” method.
What’s included in Kinesia Pilates Prep Program?
Kinesia Pilates Seattle is proud to host Romana’s Pilates International Instructor Training Program (RPI ITP).
To join RPI ITP you need to pass an entrance assessment demonstrating strong skills and knowledge of Romana’s Pilates. These skills are NOT taught in the teacher training program, it is expected that you already have them before you start.
Our private preparatory training is for those who are pursuing professional certification with RPI ITP. Once you are accepted in RPI ITP you will work with teacher trainers at Kinesia Pilates throughout your apprenticeship.
Kinesia Pilates preparatory program is designed to give you the skills that meet the expectations for acceptance into RPI ITP. This program is entirely focused on your personal practice in learning the exercises, techniques, and building your Powerhouse. You will learn the teaching skills in seminars with Master Teacher Trainers after you are accepted into RPI ITP.

This is personalized training to prepare you for the skill assessment to join RPI ITP. You can start whenever you are ready. We will form your training plan based on when you want to schedule your assessment.
-
How long it takes depends on your current skill level and how often you can practice in the studio.
To pass your entrance assessment to RPI ITP you need a personal practice at the high intermediate to advanced level. You should be confident on the Reformer and Mat, and all the various apparatus.
-
You can have any level of experience but you must be ready to commit to an intensive training practice.
We recommend practice in the studio a minimum of 4x per week in a combination of private lessons, group classes, and “open-gym” self-led practice.

Romana’s Pilates teacher trainer is a personalized apprenticeship in the comprehensive classical Pilates system on all the apparatus and the mat.
It takes 12-18 months to complete the training. You need 800 hours at 50-60 hours per week in the studio with teacher trainers.
There are 3 seminars; Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced. At each level you will take a practical teaching test with a senior or master teacher trainer.
At the Intermediate and Advanced levels you will also take written “knowledge” tests, these are not multiple choice questions but designed to test your memory and comprehension of the work.

You can start at any time. There are seminars scheduled at various training centers throughout the year.
