The Owner/Pilates Instructors at Kinesia Pilates in Downtown Seattle are second-generation teachers of Romana's Pilates, certified to teach after 600+ hours of apprenticeship by Grand Master Romana Kryzanowska or one of her internationally recognized teacher of teachers. Our staff teachers are picked for their commitment to the integrity of Pilates systems, their body-wisdom and a good sense of humor... We like to think of it as recess for grown-ups, put your worries aside for an hour and concentrate on doing something good for yourself!
Christl is a 2nd generation teacher, trained and certified by Romana Kryzanowska. She first encountered Pilates as a way to regain core strength for aerial dance after pregnancy. In addition to Pilates she trained and performed contemporary dance and dance theater in Seattle, learning somatic and developmental movement sequences in dance training.
Gay is a 3rd generation teacher, certified by Sari Meijia Santo. She believes that what we put into our bodies is a crucial element of good health, and is the owner of WindShift Nutritional Therapy. As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, she find that the pairing establishes a more complete way to promote a sense of well-being and weight management, generate sustainable energy and create a healing environment within.
Scott completed his Pilates certification at Metropolitan Pilates under world-class teacher/trainer Dorothee VandeWalle, who helped him refine and strengthen his skills as a Pilates Instructor as well as challenge his abilities as a practitioner. Hobbies include kayaking, roller blade, skiing, pickle ball, kick boxing, dancing and recently hiking and mountain climbing.
Stephanie Duffield is a 2nd generation teacher, certified by Romana Kryzanowska. Over the past 16 years, Stephanie has worked at Winsor Pilates in Los Angeles, owned a studio in Madison Park, worked in a small town in Utah and another small town college in Arizona. The past 9 years were spent on Oahu, Hawaii teaching in a beach community.
Crystal been teaching/training people in the Pilates Method for 11 years and is passionate about it. She was certified to teach both Mat and Apparatus through the Power Pilates program.
Jordan was certified to teach Mat Pilates by Michelle Miller, and is currently an apprentice in Romana's Pilates at Pilates Seattle International. She is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts with a BFA in Dance. She began practicing Pilates 8 years ago as cross-training and injury prevention for dance, and has been hooked ever since.
